Preparations have begun to create and launch the new Internet
portal for Qatar Football Association (QFA). The association, the governing body of the football game in Qatar, signed an agreement with iHorizons, the pioneering company in Internet software and eBusiness solutions, to build an advanced interactive site for QFA, covering their activities and following up the progress of the football game in Qatar through the coming years. The site will be launched within the next few months with specialized teams from the Association continuously updating its content. The site will present details of the football games, information and news about clubs, players, events, competition results, as well as football game rules, history, medical and scientific data. The site will be available in English and Arabic and perhaps in other languages in the future.
This huge content will be powered by iHorizons Knowledge Server, the system used by some of the largest Arabic Internet sites. This system enables various working teams to create, edit and publish text, images and multimedia clips through an easy-to-use, fully Arabized interface.
Mr. Sauod Al-Mohannadi, Secretary General of QFA, expressed the Association’s interest in developing the new portal, as it will be a direct link between the Association, clubs and football spectators in Qatar and around the world.
“The two parties consider this agreement a far-reaching strategic project that will achieve great success for Qatar’s Football presence on Internet, particularly in view of the absence of an effective Arabic Football sport existence on the web”, says Mohamad Takriti, iHorizons’ CEO.
