GTA Simplifies Access to Tax Information Online
Doha, Qatar – 1 September 2026: Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA), the government body responsible for tax administration in the country, has introduced a set of enhancements to its official website and the Dhareeba tax platform. The updates are designed to make tax information easier for taxpayers to find and understand and form part of the Authority’s wider work to develop its electronic services.
The enhancements were delivered by iHorizons, a provider of business solutions and technology services headquartered in Doha. The company’s work covered the design and build of the Knowledge Centre, the updated electronic calculator, and the refreshed tax information and guidance pages, carried out alongside GTA teams and shaped around the Authority’s service objectives. The engagement adds to the company’s record of digital delivery for government and public sector organizations in Qatar and the wider region.
Among those enhancements, the new Knowledge Centre brings tax guides and information together in one place, helping taxpayers understand what is required of them and how to go about it. The electronic calculator has been updated so that eligible taxpayers can work out capital gains tax and financial penalties through a simple, clear, step-by-step process.
Guidance pages have also been refreshed. The Tax Agreements page now sets out tax agreements and related procedures more clearly, including transfer pricing and mutual agreement procedures, which is of particular use to taxpayers and businesses involved in international transactions. The Income Tax on Capital Gains page carries additional guidance and answers to common questions.
Taken together, the changes are aimed at shortening the distance between a taxpayer’s question and the guidance that answers it and at supporting the Authority’s broader goal of a better taxpayer experience with easier access to tax information, tools, and services.
The enhancements form part of GTA’s ongoing efforts to improve its digital tax services and widen access to tax information for taxpayers in Qatar.
